Ujjain Yoga Life Society's Yoga training and research centre in Ujjain is certified by Yoga Alliance International (YAI) for conducting Teachers Training Programs-200 & 500 hours levels.
This Centre is also an affiliated Yoga School of International Yoga Federation (IYF).
The Society has also gained popularity in organising a very successful event International Yoga Seminar (IYS-2010 & IYS-2011) in October 2010 & September 2011, which is being organised on 12-14 October 2012.
Pt Radheshyam Mishra(Founder & Director)
Radheshyam Mishra's knowledge of Indian cultural traditions is vast and multi-faceted. He has spent his early years studying Indian classical music. He learnt Tabla instrument playing under guidance of Pt Lalit Mahant & Shri Raghvendra Kulkarni and Flute from Pt Malhar Rao Kulkarni and Shri Anand Kashikar, he eventually took advantage of an opportunity to study Indian rituals and worship traditions from Pt Jagdish Chandra Bhatt. Following this experience, and with his interest in cultural traditions of India then fully aroused, he went on to study Indian Astrology under guidance of esteemed astrologer Shri Keshrimal Vaidya; Hatha Yoga under guidance of Swami Krishna Chaitanya—according to Guru-shishya paramparâ; and Tantra tradition under guidance of Shri Umesh Desai of Mumbai. Following this period of extensive training in the above traditions, Pundit Mishra decided that Yoga encapsulates all the other traditions of Indian culture and thus began his training in the science of Yoga at the Yoga Institute (est. 1913) at Santacruz, Mumbai, India. He graduated from the Yoga Academy as a qualified teacher in 1994 and went on to conduct Yoga training for various groups around the country and abroad, including special classes for individuals, schools, colleges, police force, medical practitioners and corporate groups. During his time at the Yoga Institute, and under the guidance of his guru, Dr Jayadeva Yogendra, Mishra supervised various Yoga courses and camps.
Following this period, in 1995 to 2007, Pundit Mishra established a Yoga Centre at Naggar, Kullu District, in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh. Then, after much soul-searching, he decided to devote his life to the propagation of Yoga around the world. In this span of time he taught Yoga in many schools, hospitals, Police group and also invited to corporate world to conduct stress management through Yoga and trained many executives of big companies like Reliance Capitals, Tata Consultancy Services, Parle Products, Mahindra & Mahindra etc, involved in personal counseling and served Vikram University Ujjain on various administrative posts.
He established the YogaLife Society at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, India, in 2007, and has since traveled around India and abroad teaching, sharing and furthering his knowledge in the field of Yoga and total health.
Pt Mishra has visited the following countries in the interest of spreading the message of Yoga and establishing Yoga centres of the Ujjain Yoga Life Society; Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand and Turkey and United States of America.
Pt Mishra has authored 4 Books, Yoga and Health, Yoga Therapy, Yoga for Perfect Health, Yoga of Weight Loss and released a Video DVD ’24 Minutes Yoga’.
He is coordinating and teaching in Diploma in Yoga Education programme in Vikram University, Ujjain.
Pt Mishra is a Member of International Board of Yoga, International AIDS Society, Co-Editor of Hindi Magazine 'Samavartan' Former Secretary of Nav Sargam, Nadbrahma, Chair Person of International Yoga Seminar-Organising Committee.
International Yoga Fedration (IYF) has appointed Pt Mishra Hon. Secretary of IYF for Madhya Pradesh State of India. He has established Yoga training and research centre in Ujjain whis is certified by Yoga Alliance International (YAI) for conducting Teachers Training Programs-200 & 500 hours levels.

Paramahamsa Madhavadasaji
His Holiness Paramahamsa Madhavadasaji was born in 1798 to a Mukhopadhyaya family in Bengal in a small village near Shantipur in Nadia district. He renounced the mundane life and made efforts to learn different traditions and by going around Assam, Tibet, Himalayas and various other places in India, he got opportunities to get first-hand knowledge of technical Yoga. He was also a follower of the Bhakti-path earlier of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and later of the Order of Vaisnavisam influenced by Gauranga. He acquired various "Siddhis" (perfections or supernatural powers) during this long period of over 60 to 70 years but these only made him more humble.Paramahamsa Madhavadasaji took a voluntary Samadhi in 1921 at the age of 123 years.

Shri Yogendraji kept very clear records of all the work he has done in Yoga right from the beginning and many more people came to him mainly for solution of their physical and emotional problems. He wrote books and did a great deal of research and slowly the Institute grew in stature. Shri Yogendraji felt that many people came to Yoga for solution to their health problems and slowly could then be guided on to spirituality. He insisted that Yoga was a way of life and removing obstacles in one’s personality would gradually lead people on to a better way of living.
The Yoga Institute, Mumbai
The Yoga Institute, Santacruz (East), Mumbai, India was founded in 1918 by Shri Yogendraji and is the oldest organized centre of Yoga in the world.
The Institute is an oasis of peace in the middle of the hustle-bustle of Mumbai city. The simplicity, sincerity and non commercial angle of the Institute draws many people from across the world and today more than a thousand people come to the Institute daily. The courses offered here include Health camps for several health conditions like Cardiac problems and Hypertension, Respiratory problems, Diabetes, Orthopaedic conditions and Stress related problems, etc. Some had remarked that at the Institute we cater to people from the womb to the tomb as Couple's classes offers guidance for harmony in marital life, pregnancy ante natal and post natal classes are held, as are children's classes, including some for teenagers and then right into adult life. Some Personal Growth workshops foster on the concepts of Self Development, Concentration, Relaxation and Mind and Memory Training. These topics are based on the Samkhya principles of the Bhavas or attitudes which have to be inculcated for a healthy state. PT Radheshyam Mishra Joined this Institute in November, 1993, as a student of Yoga Teacher Training. After completion of Teacher Training he was there till 1995 as faculty.

In 1987, he set up the first Museum on Yoga at the Institute. Since taking charge at the Institute, he has concentrated in formalising ancient knowledge for common householders and laymen by publishing various books in different languages. For the serious students he has published 3 volumes on Yoga Encyclopedia and is as a Bible for the students of various Teachers Training Courses regularly conducted at the Institute. He took keen interest in setting up series of health camps for dealing with various ailments in a holistic yogic way. These camps of 2 days duration are held every month at the Institute.
He is the Editor of the Institute’s Journal, “Yoga & Total Health” published since 1933. His editorials and articles are very brief and sharp and make the readers to ponder over it for long. He is a man of extremely few words and still manages the affairs of the Institute in very efficient manner.
Smt. Hansaji Jayadeva was born in 1947 in an aristocratic Jain family. Her schooling was at Vile Parle, a cultural western suburb of Mumbai. The education at her school was based on Gandhian principles. At the age of 12, she would sit in static yogic postures for hours without any distractions, observing her breath, synchronising with heart rhythms and practicing full control of the mind.
Hansaji got married in 1973 to Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra at The Yoga Institute. Soon thereafter she was instrumental in making radical changes in the work done at the Institute - expansion of the Ladies Wing, regularizing the monthly Seven - Day Residential Camp and the 21 - Day Better Living Course, introducing more Special Classes for women, Children’s Camp, Couples Classes, Pregnancy - ante / post natal classes. The most recent courses introduced are: Menopause Camp, Senior Citizen Camp and Weight Management Camp.
